Glossary

One word per thing: what each Hivemind word means, in a sentence.

These docs use one word for each thing, the word the app shows.

Paste this into your coding agent to make your own notes about Hivemind use the same words.

Read the Hivemind glossary in the reference below. Then read the file or text I point you to about Hivemind (a README, notes, an issue).
List each word that means something in the glossary but is not the glossary's word (for example "offer" for invite, "daemon" for background process, "board" for canvas), with the line it is on and the word to use instead.
Do not change the file until I say which ones to change.

The workspace

WordWhat it is
WorkspaceOne project folder and everything open for it.
CanvasThe view that lays your frames, tiles and widgets out on one endless surface. The app also calls it the board, as in Can edit board.
FrameA named area bound to one folder: the project, a git worktree, or a folder on another computer. Every tile in it starts in that folder.
TileOne thing in a frame: an agent, a terminal, the Code tile, a browser or a tool.
Layers panelThe list beside the canvas of your projects, frames and tiles. ⌘B / Ctrl+B shows or hides it.
BellThe count at the top of the Layers panel of agents waiting on you. Press it to jump to the next one.
ViewA way of drawing the workspace: Canvas, Windows, or one you install. ⌘E / Ctrl+E switches.
WorktreeA second checkout of the same git repository in its own folder, on its own branch, so two agents never edit the same files.
IssueA piece of work written as a Markdown file in .hivemind/, which you and your agents read and update.

Agents

WordWhat it is
AgentA coding agent's own program (Claude Code, Codex, opencode, …) running in a tile, which Hivemind reads and answers.
Needs youAn agent waiting for a person: a permission question, a choice or a plan to approve. Its tile turns amber, with a triangle, and the app tells you. A supervised worker waiting for its lead (approval?) is amber too, but its lead answers it, so nothing tells you.
WorkingAn agent busy on its task.
DoneAn agent that finished replying since you last looked: a dot on its row. Notifications call it Finished.
IdleAn agent at its prompt, waiting for a task.
ExitedThe agent's program has stopped. Red when it failed.
AsleepAn agent put to sleep: its program stopped, its conversation kept, ready to resume.
LeadThe agent, or you in a terminal, that starts other agents with hive ctl, sends them work and collects their replies.
WorkerAn agent a lead started to do one piece of the work.
SuperviseA worker's permission questions go to the lead's inbox instead of its own screen.
ChannelWhich releases you follow: stable, or nightly builds.
Background processThe hive process that keeps terminals and agents running while the app is closed or upgrading.

Plugins

WordWhat it is
PluginSomething you add to Hivemind: an agent, a view, a widget or a tool.
WidgetA small live card on the canvas, drawn by a few lines of code.
ToolA plugin that adds a kind of tile, such as a pull request panel. It runs with your access, so it starts switched off.
HiveHubThe catalogue Hivemind installs agents and plugins from. See What HiveHub is.

Other computers and people

WordWhat it is
MachineAnother computer you added over ssh. Frames, terminals and agents can run on it.
HostA server that keeps your workspaces and agents running while your laptop sleeps.
Network serverA server you run (hive-net) so your devices and guests reach each other across networks. It also serves the phone page.
InviteA link, QR code or code that lets one device or person in.
RoleWhat a person or a program may do: view, edit, terminals or agents.
TokenA secret a program of yours uses to drive a workspace, with one role.
